Doctoral Psychology Internship (Health Service Psychology)

Dr. Inzinna Psychological Services PLLC (DIPS)

Hybrid | Telehealth & Upper East Side, Manhattan | New York State Residency Required

$35,000 Annual Stipend | Full-Time | September 2026 – August 2027

About the Program

Dr. Inzinna Psychological Services PLLC (DIPS) offers a comprehensive, generalist Doctoral Internship in Health Service Psychology providing advanced training in psychotherapy, psychological assessment, consultation, and professional development within a collaborative hybrid outpatient setting.

The internship is designed to prepare emerging psychologists for competent, ethical, and reflective practice across diverse client populations. Because DIPS accepts insurance and operates via both telehealth and in-person modalities, interns gain rich experience serving culturally and socioeconomically diverse clients, including those who might otherwise face barriers to care.

Success in This Role

Interns thrive when they bring curiosity, professionalism, and openness to feedback. Success means developing competence across APA’s nine profession-wide competencies—becoming confident in evidence-based treatment, psychological assessment, ethical decision-making, and cultural humility. Interns who complete this program are well prepared for postdoctoral fellowships and licensure-track positions in health service psychology.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy under supervision.
  • Conduct intake evaluations, risk assessments, and diagnostic formulation.
  • Administer, score, and interpret psychological assessments (e.g., WAIS-V, personality and symptom inventories).
  • Participate in weekly supervision (≥4 hours) and didactic seminars (≥2 hours).
  • Maintain ethical, HIPAA-compliant documentation and professional communication.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of psychologists and clinical staff.
  • Contribute to case conferences, outcome monitoring, and reflective learning discussions.
  • Optional: Participate in the Inzinna Research Lab, focusing on integrative psychotherapy process and outcome evaluation.

Qualifications
  • Enrollment in an APA- or CPA-accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • Completion of at least 500 direct clinical hours and readiness for internship as certified by the doctoral program’s Director of Clinical Training.
  • Foundational training in evidence-based therapies (CBT, DBT, ACT, Family Systems, psychodynamic).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; cultural humility; and professional maturity.
  • Residency in New York State by the start of the internship (for licensure and telehealth compliance).

Compensation & Benefits
  • Annual stipend of $35,000
  • 10 days paid personal leave plus federal/state holidays and 3 professional development days
  • Full-time, 12-month placement (≈2,000 hours total)
  • Access to HIPAA-secure telehealth platforms, electronic health records, and testing materials
  • Regular mentorship, supervision, and professional development opportunities
