Job Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Location: Emerson Public Schools, Bergen County, New Jersey
Position Type: Full-Time, 10-Month (School Year), with possibility for extended summer work

Position Overview:
Emerson Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to support students across PK–12 settings. The BCBA will play a key role in designing, implementing, and monitoring behavior support plans, providing staff training, and helping ensure that students with behavioral and social-emotional needs can access the curriculum and school environment successfully.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, child study team members, paraprofessionals, and administrators to support students with IEPs and behavioral goals
- Provide training and ongoing support to school staff in the implementation of behavior plans and proactive behavior management strategies
- Analyze behavior data and adjust supports based on student progress
- Support the implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies when appropriate
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations grounded in evidence-based practices
- Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies when needed
- Collaborate with families to promote consistency and generalization of behavior strategies
Qualifications:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field
- Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly those with autism, emotional/behavioral disabilities, or significant behavioral needs
- Knowledge of NJ special education laws and IDEA regulations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work across multiple school buildings and manage a flexible caseload
- NJ DOE certification as a Behaviorist (or eligibility) preferred
