The CAC is seeking a Psychologist II to join our team and make a meaningful impact through the provision of individual, group, couples, and family therapy, as well as consultation-liaison services/skills training (parent training, social skills training, behavior coaching), and comprehensive psychological evaluations. Under general supervision, this role will provide in-person services to residents of the Brazos Valley and will also have the opportunity to interact with and mentor doctoral students in the Counseling and School Psychology programs at Texas A&M.What you need to knowSalary: Hourly.This is an opportunity for temporary/casual work with the potential for a flexible work schedule. This role provides an opportunity to accrue the supervised postdoctoral experience required for licensures, stay at the forefront of your professional field, and contribute to advances in the mental health field by coming to work at the CAC. They have access to TAMU faculty members and University resources.Additional benefits available to Staff Psychologists include:TAMU Business cardProfessional profile on CAC websiteTAMU email addressAccess to TAMU library, including books, search engines, and online resourcesClerical and administrative support from CAC staffQualificationsRequired Education and ExperienceDoctorate in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or School Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.One (1) year full-time supervised pre-doctoral internship in a relevant setting.One (1) year full-time postdoctoral clinical experience in a relevant setting.Required Licenses and CertificationsLicensure in the state of Texas as a PsychologistPreferred QualificationsAPA-accredited pre-doctoral internship.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.Ability to positively and professionally interact with clients and staff.Excellent communication skills.Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.Working knowledge of office software and scoring programs.Essential Duties/TasksClinical ServicesProvide psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and groups.Complete psychological evaluations for individuals that address a variety of reasons for referralAdministrative NeedsMaintain and provide evidence when requested of professional liability insuranceParticipate in continuing education and professional development activities per state licensure requirementsMeet ethical obligations for timely documentation of services per State of Texas licensure requirements and CAC policiesEngage in therapy and evaluation related activities including administering and interpreting psychological tests/inventoriesPlans and Implements Strategies to Attract and Retain ClientsAssist with attracting and retaining potential clients.Exhibit empathy, compassion, and the ability to establish and maintain therapeutic relationshipsFinancial Preparation and ManagementDetermine fee for services providedEnsure clients submit payments at time of service/scheduled appointmentSupervision and ConsultationProvide adjunct supervision to doctoral level students in the Counseling and School Psychology programsProvide consultation to faculty and staffSeek consultation from peers for difficult clinical cases per State of Texas licensure requirementsWho we areThe College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is committed to enhancing educational achievement and health outcomes, fostering innovation & development, and influencing policy & practice in the fields of education, health, sport, business, and government.
