Recreation Therapist

Plans, coordinates, and assists in the management of the Recreational Therapy Service. Participates in planning and implementing new programs and services. Establishes and implements therapeutic recreational therapy programs to treat patients. Directs and organizes such activities as adapted sports, dramatics, and social activities, arts and crafts, regulating content of program in accordance with patient’s capabilities, needs, and interests. Employee will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Activity Coordinator Certification and Advanced Activity Certification & CPR
  • Recreation Therapist
  • Bachelors Degree

What qualifications you will need:

  • PT Texas licensure is required.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support course (BLS or BCLS) and certification is required.
  • 1 year PT experience in a hospital setting preferred.
