Job Summary:
The DME Intake Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient management of incoming orders. This position requires an experienced, detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of how a DME home care operates. A respiratory therapy background with experience in ventilator management and supplies management is desired.
Candidate must be multi-task oriented, prompt, and reliable; have excellent customer service/communication skills; and possess a great attitude with ability to work as a team member. Bilingual - English/Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Patient referrals: Receive and process referrals from sources like hospitals, insurance companies, physicians, and various case managers.
- Information verification: Collect patient information, including medical records, physician orders, and insurance details.
- Insurance verification: Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations for equipment coverage where necessary.
- Coordination: Communicate with referral sources, staff, and the patient to orchestrate a smooth delivery.
- Data entry: Enter patient and referral information in a patient tracking sytem.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of ventilators, RAD devices, and associated supplies.
- Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance verification procedures.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.
- General office admiistration skills including computer proficiency with knowledge of patient tracking systems, good penmanship, and good typing skills, with 10-key a bonus.
- Excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail for documentation review.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
