Women of Color On The Move (WOCOTM) is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women, children, and families through education, advocacy, and community-driven programs. Our mission is to create equitable opportunities and promote wellness, leadership, and resilience among women of color worldwide.
Position Overview:
The Volunteer Social Worker (Global) will provide culturally competent emotional support, advocacy, and resources to women and families across diverse communities. This role supports WOCOTM’s global initiatives in mental health, maternal and child health, substance abuse recovery, trauma healing, and social empowerment. Volunteers will work virtually with international teams to address the needs of underserved populations and connect them to sustainable support networks.
Key Responsibilities:

- Provide virtual case management, emotional support, and referrals for individuals and families in need.
- Conduct needs assessments and help connect clients to local and international community resources.
- Collaborate with global teams to support programs focused on mental health, family advocacy, and wellness.
- Develop and facilitate support groups or workshops on topics such as self-care, resilience, family dynamics, and women’s empowerment.
- Assist with program development, documentation, and reporting to strengthen service delivery.
- Advocate for social justice and equity within WOCOTM initiatives and partner communities.
- Participate in training, supervision, and team meetings to ensure culturally responsive and ethical practice.
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or related field.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, women’s empowerment, and community engagement.
- Experience working with diverse, multicultural, and global communities.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.
- Comfortable working remotely using tools like Zoom, Google Workspace, and project management platforms.
- Preferred Multilingual abilities are a plus (especially in French, Spanish, Swahili, Arabic, or Portuguese).
- Able to used Microsoft 365
- Must have a computer
- Up to two years experiences
Time Commitment:

- Minimum of 5–10 hours per week (flexible schedule based on program needs and volunteer availability).
