About Job

Children's Hope Foster Family Agency is looking for a part-time Social Worker to join our team in Roseville. This person will be a coordinator for foster children, and will be responsible for ensuring our clients’ physical, emotional, and educational needs are being met. We have been in business for 25 years and have supported over 7,000 foster youth in Northern California.


Qualifications:

  • Education equivalent to Master’s Degree or higher in Social Work, or in a related field of Social Science for Social Worker or equivalent exception
  • Education equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, or in a related field of Social Science for Caseload Manager
  • 2+ years of experience as a Social Worker


Location: Roseville, CA

Budget: $25 - $28/hour ($52,000 - $58,240)

Full job description:


Position Summary:


To ensure that the foster child has been placed in a home that provides a safe and positive environment. The foster family’s ability to provide such an environment must be monitored by the Social Worker. The Social Worker must be a coordinator for the foster child, and responsible for ensuring the clients’ physical, emotional, and education needs are being met.


Upon placement in a foster home, the Social Worker is responsible for reporting to the placing agency the children’s progress towards the objectives in the Appraisal/Needs plan that was created.


The Social Worker is responsible for the completeness of the client’s file as well as documenting a written record of the child’s progress within a home and relate important information to the court and its agents.


The Traditional Housing Program (THP) is for aged out foster youth ranging from 18-24. In our program we help our clients find housing, go to school, or find a job and build up skills to become a successful adult.


Work with clients in building independent living skills, obtaining identification documents, and connecting to community resources/services. Be able to build a relationship with clients and be a part of their support system. Implementing healthy boundaries to help clients become successful young adults by the time they age out of the program.


Responsibility of the Social Worker is to serve as an advocate for the Client and to help support the Client in removing barriers, monitor and evaluate clients’ progress and modify treatment plans accordingly, complete annual and quarterly reports for the client. Help clients make and keep a budget and build up independent living skills.


Attend child family team meetings and court hearings as needed.


Manage a part-time caseload (around 6) clients.


Essential Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily:

  • Education equivalent to Master’s Degree or higher in Social Work, or in a related field of Social Science for Social Worker or equivalent exception.
  • Education equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, or in a related field of Social Science for Caseload Manager.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Social Worker/1 year of experience for a Social Work Assistant.
  • Competency in a variety of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills, and a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
  • Strong grammar and written communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accurate results and timely completion.
  • Ability to supervise peers with minimum direction.
  • Ability to solve problems with a minimum of supervision.
