Position Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Behavioral Health Officer, the Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) provides comprehensive psychological assessments and brief, evidence-based interventions in a primary care setting. This role bridges mental and physical health by integrating behavioral health into medical care, ensuring patients receive holistic treatment.
You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, conduct crisis interventions, develop treatment plans, and empower individuals and families toward wellness — all while fostering culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct brief psychological and behavioral assessments for patients across the lifespan.
- Provide evidence-based interventions for mental health, behavioral, and substance use concerns.
- Collaborate with Primary Care Providers (PCPs) to develop and monitor treatment plans.
- Deliver crisis intervention and suicide risk assessments as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and peer reviews to support integrated care.
- Promote awareness of behavioral health services among healthcare teams and patients.
- Engage in quality improvement and policy development initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA Privacy and Security rules.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in Counseling or a related psychotherapy field from an accredited university or college.
- License: Active LPCC issued by the State of California (required).
- Language: Bilingual in English/Spanish highly preferred.
