Location: Hybrid or In-Person

Compensation: $25-$35 per hour

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced High School Counselor to join our team. This role can be part-time or full-time, depending on availability and fit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in academic advising and student support services, along with the ability to guide adolescents through the personal, social, and academic challenges of high school. Strong communication, organizational, and mentorship skills are essential, as you will play a key role in fostering student well-being and success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field preferred
  • Prior counseling experience in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of adolescent development, mental health support, and academic advising practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple student needs
  • Familiarity with student support frameworks, conflict resolution, and wellness initiatives
  • Relevant state certification/licensure in school counseling is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic advising, including course selection and monitoring student progress
  • Support students’ social-emotional development through individual and group counseling
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address student needs
  • Assist with conflict resolution, peer relationships, and behavioral guidance
  • Organize and lead workshops on study skills, time management, stress management, and wellness
  • Maintain accurate records of counseling interactions and interventions
  • Identify and provide referrals for students needing additional mental health support
  • Help foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment
  • Be available during peak academic periods for additional student support
