Responsibilities

  • As a professional member of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides a range of direct and indirect services for patient/families including, but not limited to, the identification of psychosocial problems and their resolutions.
  • In addition, the Social Worker collaborates with the patient/family/team to effect safe and timely discharge/treatment plans.
  • The Social Worker complies with the Mission Statements of Montefiore and Social Services, and the Code of Ethics of the National Association of Social Work.

Requirements

  • Master’s in social work from a school of Social Work from a program registered by the NYS Dept. of Education or determined to be substantially equivalent by the commissioner's regulation.
  • Must have a NYS LMSW or LCSW license and registration.
  • If employee has a limited permit, they must have an executed Memorandum of understanding with a licensed Social Worker for the purposes of supervision and must obtain LMSW within 6 months of employment.
