Compensation: $17/hr

Benefits

We have three comprehensive healthcare plans to choose from based on your priorities and budget. Housing Works covers most of the plan; you pay a portion, based on your salary. Staff begins accruing PTO immediately for a total of up to 30 days earned in the first year. We offer employees an educational benefit. Overview

The Residential Aide (RA) ensures the wellbeing and safety of the program’s clients and staff during their shifts. The RA provides crisis intervention as needed to maintain residential safety and security. The schedule operates 7 days a week, and all holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • The RA makes sure that program’s policies and procedures are enforced and adhered to by program clients.
  • Build rapport with program clients and engage with them professionally and respectfully.
  • When necessary, de-escalate tense, even hostile, client situations.

Other functions that may be required with this position include:

  • Ensure the safety, security and integrity of all residents and guests, as well as the physical environment of the facility.
  • Conduct periodic facility walk-throughs.
  • Always provide excellent customer service and confidentiality.
  • Distribute meals to program clients and help unpack and properly store meals that are delivered to site.
  • Perform light custodial work consisting of cleaning tables, chairs, minor spills, and removal of trash.
  • Communicate with the clinical staff on resident behavior as well as the care of those on the fragile list.
  • Always enforce the Residential Code of Conduct and/or House Rules.
  • Enthusiastically participate in advocacy and direct actions to end the twin crises of homelessness and HIV/AIDS.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime and offer flexibility regarding scheduling work time.
