Blacksburg Eye Associates — a fast-growing, patient-centered optometry practice — is seeking a dedicated Optometric Technician to join our team. As an essential part of the patient experience, you’ll assist in delivering high-quality vision care while working alongside a supportive team of experienced optometrists and professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and prepare them for eye exams
• Perform preliminary testing (visual acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, etc.)
• Assist with contact lens training and education
• Document patient history and input data into electronic medical records
• Maintain clean and organized exam and pre-test rooms
• Support doctors with procedures and diagnostic equipment
• Educate patients on eye care and eyewear products
• Handle contact lens ordering and receiving

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a medical office setting preferred (but we’re happy to train the right candidate)
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
• Comfortable with technology and EMR systems
• Energetic, reliable, and a team player
