Riverside Medical Group is seeking a strategic and compassionate Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead clinical psychiatric operations at Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center (RMHRC) in Hampton, Virginia.

Chief Medical Officer & Psychiatrist

Riverside Medical Group – RMHRC | Hampton, Virginia | Full-Time (50% Clinical / 50% Leadership)

This hybrid role combines 50% direct psychiatric care with 50% executive leadership, offering a unique opportunity to shape mental health services while maintaining hands-on patient engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties (50%):

Provide patient care in a Psychiatric Emergency Department, Mental Health Outpatient Clinic or Inpatient facility for those with a primary mental health or substance use need.
Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and manage psychotropic medications
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care
Maintain compliance with DBHDS and DNV standards

Leadership Duties (50%):

Oversee medical staff administration and quality improvement initiatives
Lead strategic planning and implementation of clinical programs
Enhance Epic EHR workflows and data analytics
Mentor providers and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and drive performance metrics

Qualifications:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) in Psychiatry – Required
Board Certification in Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine – Required
Licensed or eligible to practice in Virginia – Required within 60 days
Valid DEA registration – Required at hire
CPI Advanced Skills – Required within 14 days of hire
MBA, MHA, MMM, or MPH – Preferred
7–10 years of clinical experience with increasing administrative responsibility – Preferred
