Program Details:

• Number of working hours: 35-40 per week
• Tenure: Asap till the end of 2025-26 school year

School Counselor Responsibilities:

• Provide academic, social-emotional, and college/career counseling to students.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to identify student needs and plan interventions.
• Develop and lead support programs, workshops, or group counseling sessions.
• Monitor student progress, intervene when issues arise, and maintain case records.
• Participate in school events, parent meetings, and school-wide counseling initiatives.
• Provide crisis support, referrals to external resources, and follow up with high-needs students.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required; a Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or related field preferred.
• Certification or licensure in school counseling (in New York State likely) or ability to obtain one.
• Experience working with adolescents, especially in urban school settings.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use data, assessments, and intervention plans to support student growth.
• Sensitivity to student diversity, trauma, and equity issues.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
