In-Home Technicians Req. (Mostly)
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. The BT will work directly with children diagnosed with autism and other developmental disorders, implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role is crucial in providing support and guidance to enhance the quality of life for our clients through effective behavior management strategies.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
- Conduct one-on-one sessions with clients to promote skill development and behavioral improvement.
- Collect and record data on client progress, behaviors, and responses during sessions.
- Educate clients and their families about behavioral strategies and techniques to reinforce learning at home.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations regarding patient information.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed, fostering independence and self-care skills.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in special education and behavioral health.
Skills
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to behavioral health settings.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disorders or special education needs.
- Proficient in behavior management techniques, including crisis intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to educate clients and families about behavioral strategies in an understandable manner.
- Compassionate approach towards patient care, demonstrating empathy and patience in all interactions.
