Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team in providing high-quality care to individuals with mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of psychiatric care and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role involves direct patient interaction, crisis intervention, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of our patients.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care and support to individuals with psychiatric disorders.
- Monitor patient behavior and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
- Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medical records.
- Conduct patient observations and document findings in accordance with medical terminology standards.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive outcomes for patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, including those with disabilities.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities related to psychiatric care.
Qualifications
- Experience in psychiatry, nursing, or behavioral health is preferred.
- Familiarity with acute care settings, corrections facility medical clinics, or hospital experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and patient monitoring techniques is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively.
