Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling and possess the skills necessary to provide effective support to individuals and families facing various challenges. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to promote emotional well-being and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services using evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to address issues such as addiction, trauma, PTSD, and behavioral health concerns.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to support clients in acute distress or emergencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care, including case management and coordination of services.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including intake forms, progress notes, and treatment summaries.
- Engage in ongoing research and data collection to enhance therapeutic practices and contribute to program development.
- Provide home and community care support as needed, ensuring clients receive comprehensive assistance in their environments.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Valid licensure or certification as required by state regulations (e.g., LPC, LCSW).
- Experience in child & family counseling, crisis management, and behavioral therapy preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems is advantageous.
- Familiarity with addiction counseling techniques and mental health assessment tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing case documentation and client records.
