Job Description:

As a Kids Club Counselor, you will be responsible for leading and engaging with kids through a variety of exciting activities while providing a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children aged 4-12. This position requires strong leadership skills, creativity, and a passion for working with children. Position is Part-Time and offers opportunities to expand your work experience and gain more hours by participating in other seasonal job opportunities at Calamigos Guest Ranch such as our Holiday Camps and Summer Camp Programs. Calamigos Kids is a year-round, weekend-only member club which provides opportunities to build strong communities with the members of this beautiful property.

Responsibilities:

• Engage and Lead Activities: Plan indoor and outdoor exciting activities for the kids, including arts and crafts, games, and sports. Lead activities that encourage exploration, physical activity, and creativity. A basic understanding of child development principles to create age-appropriate activities and respond effectively to children's needs.
• Promote Positive Interactions: Represent positive behavior and social interactions among the kids, creating an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for everyone. The ability to work effectively with children from diverse cultural backgrounds can enhance inclusivity and understanding. Communicating effectively with parents and other staff members.
• Clean and Safe Environment: Maintaining a clean and safe environment for all the kids, ensuring we disinfected all surfaces in the Kids Club before and after. Maintain standards in accordance with CA health and Child Care Laws.
• Check-Ins and Check-Outs: Managing sign in sheets including allergies, medications, pickup instructions and security measures.

.Qualifications:

• 2+ years previous experience working with children (required)
• Valid CPR certification/First Aid or willingness to get certified prior to starting.
• Strong communication skills, both with kids and adults.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and ability to manage emergency situations and problem solving.
• Outgoing, positive energy, and friendly.
• Ability to provide a sense of safety and comfortable environment for the Kids.
