Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with patients to provide support and care in an outpatient environment. You will assist in the assessment and treatment of individuals facing mental health challenges, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care. Your responsibilities will include implementing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and providing therapeutic support.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Conduct patient assessments and document medical records accurately.
• Provide direct support to patients during therapy sessions, including individual and group counseling.
• Facilitate crisis intervention and management strategies as needed.
• Engage in motivational interviewing techniques to encourage patient participation in their treatment.
• Support children and families through child & family counseling sessions.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive information.
• Participate in clinical research activities and data collection for ongoing improvement of services.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Utilize various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, and psychodynamic therapy as appropriate.

Skills

• Experience with mental health counseling.
• Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate medical documentation.
• Knowledge of telehealth practices and experience providing remote patient care is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Strong understanding of clinical documentation practices.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
