About Job
Job Summary
"Irvine Family Counseling (IFC) exists to train therapist-leaders in the field. Therefore, we are looking to hire top-level talent. The ideal IFC candidate is unwavering—committed to their clients’ healing, resilient in the face of challenges, and steadfast even when progress is slow. They confront self-doubt with perseverance, adapt to difficulties with wisdom, and hold hope when clients cannot. More than clinicians, they are guides, anchors, and champions of transformation, showing up every day with dedication and heart—because true healing takes time, trust, and a therapist who never gives up."
Hello! Are you looking for a private practice setting where you feel valued, supported, and challenged? A place where client well-being and clinician development come first, and where you can grow into your strongest version of a therapist while meeting your financial goals? If so, we may be the perfect fit for you! IFC is rapidly growing, and we’re looking for a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our close-knit team.
Our practice is a fit for self-starters, for those who want to possibly build their own private practice one day while learning from seasoned experts, and for those who aren't afraid to take risks. IFC readily provides the opportunity for candidates to have a flourishing practice. We simply need someone who can rise to the occasion, and grow along the way.
The ideal candidate will provide high-quality therapeutic services to couples and families—not just individuals—facing various mental health challenges. This role involves booking new individual, couples, and family inquiries (inquiries which will be provided to you), tending to the needs of individuals, couples, and families in weekly counseling sessions, and logistically managing a caseload of at least 20-25 clients.
The Mental Health Therapist will work closely with clients to address issues related to communication conflicts, divorce or separation, parenting issues, affairs, intimacy, and more. As a practice with Catholic/Christian values, candidates with a familiarity or alignment with the Christian faith will be highly regarded
Duties
- Participate in weekly supervision sessions provided by the IFC founder for collaboration and support on cases.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the unique needs of couples and families.
- Offer support and counseling for clients with developmental disabilities, mood imbalances, personality disorders, etc.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Valid state license to practice as a Mental Health Therapist.
- Experience in outpatient settings preferred.
- Knowledge of common issues in counseling, child and family counseling, and working with couples or families with mental health concerns.
- Proficiency in counseling techniques.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in therapy practice.
Please note: We are not accepting trainees for this position.
We invite qualified candidates who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others to apply for this rewarding opportunity. If we do not respond to your inquiry, we sincerely extend our appreciation for your interest.
