The Manager, Social Work and Behavioral Health plays a vital role in leading the clinical and administrative functions of the social work and behavioral health departments. This position requires a dynamic professional who can offer hands-on clinical guidance and contribute to the organization's strategic direction. As a key member of the leadership team, you will help shape interdisciplinary care, uphold the highest practice standards, and foster a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Social Workers and Behavioral Health Specialists. This includes managing recruitment, training, and continuous performance development to ensure the team can address the complex emotional, psychological, and social needs of participants.
  • Clinical Excellence and Program Oversight: Oversee all social work and behavioral health assessments, interventions, and care plans. Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards in all clinical documentation. Collaborate with the Behavioral Health Specialist to develop and improve programs like support groups and educational workshops to meet community needs.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Serve as the primary representative for social work and behavioral health on the interdisciplinary team (IDT). Facilitate seamless integration of social and behavioral services with medical, nursing, and therapy care. Foster communication and problem-solving to create comprehensive, person-centered care plans.

  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure departmental practices align with company standards and all relevant federal and state regulations. Maintain a deep understanding of documentation requirements, participant rights, and the grievance process. Attention to detail is crucial to protect participants and the organization.

Candidate Profile

We seek a leader with a Master’s degree in social work (MSW) and 2+ years of previous social work supervision/leadership experience. Experience working with a frail or elderly population for at least one year is preferred.

The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional clinical judgment and effective communication skills for navigating challenging conversations with empathy and clarity. Proactive, organized, and deeply committed to the well-being of the geriatric population. A valid state driver’s license and clean DMV record are required for occasional home visits to engage directly with participants.
