Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing SUD counseling services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role requires a deep understanding of addiction, mental health, and behavioral health issues, as well as the ability to implement effective treatment plans that promote recovery and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments to evaluate individual needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing various therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and crisis intervention.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on addiction recovery and behavioral management.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for patients, including social workers, medical professionals, and community resources.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments.
- Engage in crisis management to support patients during critical situations.
- Provide education on addiction medicine and behavioral health issues to patients and their families.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Certified Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor (required)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Solid understanding of mental health and addiction counseling practices
- Knowledge of ASAM evaluation processes and case management principles.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
