Job Title: Primary Therapist
SHIFT: First Shift Able to work 9:00AM-7:00PM Fri-Mon
Job Summary
Substance Use and Co-occurring Disorders, PHP Level of Care
The Primary Therapist position in the Clinical Department reports to the Clinical Director and involves maintaining open communication with facility staff, attending clinicians, physicians, patients, and families. The role includes providing individual and some group therapy sessions for agency clients, guiding and directing clients during sessions, and documenting progress towards treatment plan goals.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychosocial intake and complete the master treatment plan within the appropriate timeframe.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to assist clients in overcoming dependencies and adjusting to life changes.
- Collaborate with staff members for clinical assessments and treatment plan development.
- Conduct daily groups for all patients, including educational sessions on the disease process.
- Provide case management, including phone calls and letters for continuous treatment.
- Maintain inventory of self-help literature and patient orientation manual for distribution.
- Attend daily staff meetings, participate in required staff training, and complete all assigned paperwork accurately and timely.
- Protect patient privacy and comply with privacy policies, procedures, and practices.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of mental health, co-occurring complications, and community health resources.
- Ability to network and collaborate with healthcare and social agencies.
- Competency in problem-solving, stress management, ethics, and team building.
- Familiarity with psychiatric disorders and emergency procedures.
- Compliance with Federal, State, and Municipal laws and regulations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 1 years of mental health, substance use, or related work experience preferred.
- Practicum and internship experience recognized.
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or appropriate social services field Required .
- Licensure/Certification LMHC, LCSW, LMFT preferred.
- MCAP - OK.
- Registered intern OK.
