About Job
Mental health is a top concern in our communities, especially in Denver. As a Crisis Text Line volunteer, you can actively provide support to people struggling with anxiety, depression, loneliness, stress, and other difficult situations affecting their mental health. What’s best about this opportunity is that it is fully remote, which means you can be a changemaker for someone from the comfort of your couch.
Crisis Text Line provides free, confidential, 24/7, text-message-based support for people in crisis in English and Spanish. Our service is powered by volunteer Crisis Counselors who have received our training and are equipped to support others in their moments of need through active listening techniques, de-escalation strategies, and empathy.
While we are a national organization, we are actively recruiting volunteers in the Denver area in partnership with Caring for Denver- a taxpayer funded, nonprofit organization addressing Denver’s mental health and substance misuse needs.
Volunteering at Crisis Text Line is a significant and rewarding experience. As you learn how to empathize with people’s unique struggles through collaborative problem solving, you may find yourself developing new skills in communication and self-awareness that can benefit both your personal relationships and professional life while making a positive impact in the lives of others.
