Responsibilities:

  • Prepare group activities as it relates to the topic within the area of addiction, recovery, mental health and utilize holistic and creative interventions through the lens of understanding gender identity and sexual orientation.
  • Prepare an activity and topic that relates to the LGBTQIA+ community in recovery.
  • Be responsible for conducting a structured and motivational group session for 1-2 hours with 2 - 10 adults with much trauma.
  • Conduct group in a manner that all individuals are respected and heard and the rules of the facility are maintained.
  • Understand the trauma that most of our clients have faced and having a passion to work with the transgender and queer community
  • Document each client thoroughly in each group after each group is complete.
  • Complies with all policies and procedures.
  • Participates in all staff meetings; responsible for obtaining information if not in attendance
  • Approaches clients / family members, significant others, and visitors with a respectful, caring manner to convey a sense of concern and warmth.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client information and records; and of facility proprietary, privileged, and / or confidential information.
  • Communicates and problem solves via the chain of command.
  • Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner, sensitive to client and staff diversity.
  • Maintains a caseload and current documentation of client care, i.e. assessments, individual and group progress notes, etc.
  • Conducts weekly family sessions with each participant on caseload.
  • Seeks corrective criticism and has the ability to evaluate suggestions objectively.
  • Reports to work as assigned.
  • Completes daily tasks as assigned and documents the delivery of all client services.
  • Maintains acceptable overall attendance.
  • Promotes a favorable / positive work atmosphere.
  • Attends or conducts in-services and educational training as necessary and as assigned.
  • Seeks out learning experiences and incorporates new knowledge into practice.
  • Maintains flexibility and adaptability to expected and unexpected changes in the work environment.
  • Reports incidents, accidents, and occurrences in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintains safety of the physical environment.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • A LCSW, LMHC, MCAP, CAP, CAC
  • A Master’s in the area of social work, psychology or mental health.
  • 1+ years experience working within the field of addiction
  • Diversity and Race Equity training

Desired Qualifications:

  • LGBTQIA+ culturally affirming
  • Ability to document with detail and criteria within timeframes
  • Ability to adhere to the policies and procedures of the agency
  • -Knowledgeable about the 12 steps, the process of recovery, issues related to depression, anxiety, the trauma of gender dysphoria and other mental health diagnosis through a trauma-informed lens.
  • Able to communicate with the rest of the staff within the organization.
  • Has an upbeat, inspirational, positive outlook.
  • Passion for working with the LGBTQIA+ community at a trauma-informed dual diagnose substance use facility
  • Ability to easily connect with people and inspire them to change their lives
  • Great communication and listening skills
  • Attention to detail
