Overview
The Residential Aide plays a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized care to residents in assisted living, retirement homes, or group homes. This position is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or Alzheimer's disease. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to supporting residents with their daily activities while fostering a safe and nurturing environment.

Duties

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in residents' health status.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation in EMR systems.
  • Support residents with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces to ensure a safe environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to create personalized care plans.
  • Implement behavior management strategies for residents with special needs or challenging behaviors.
  • Drive residents to appointments or community outings as required.

Skills

  • Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of caregiving techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs.
  • Familiarity with first aid procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with residents, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a supportive team player.
  • Proficiency in cleaning and maintaining a hygienic living environment for residents.
  • Experience with social work principles or direct support roles is advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license is preferred for transporting residents when needed. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to improving the lives of those they serve through attentive care and support.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
