A nationwide behavioral health organization is seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment at a respected outpatient clinic in Sacramento, California. This role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate mental health care to children and adolescents in a supportive, team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits for children and adolescents.
- Manage a caseload of 6–10 patients per day with conditions such as ADHD, MDD, PTSD, and anxiety disorders.
- Provide initial assessments (60–90 minutes) and follow-up appointments (20–30 minutes).
- Prescribe and manage medications as appropriate.
- Collaborate with a dedicated support staff and interdisciplinary care team.
- Deliver on-site care Monday through Friday in an outpatient clinic setting.
Schedule
- Full-Time, Onsite: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts (40 hours/week).
- Caseload: 6–10 patients daily.
Requirements
- Active California APRN license with prescriptive authority.
- PMHNP certification preferred.
- 1–3 years of psychiatric/mental health experience, ideally with child & adolescent populations.
- Strong communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills.
