Embracing Joy Psychotherapy is a supportive group practice in Midtown Manhattan that specializes in depth-oriented, psychodynamic therapy for couples and individuals in their 20s through 40s. Our team is advanced trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and we are seeking a warm, skilled, and motivated Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) to join our team.

Position Overview
The Associate MFT will primarily see couples, with the potential to also work with individuals. This role begins with a smaller caseload that grows over time, depending on the needs of the practice and the clinician’s interest. Our ideal candidate is looking to maintain a consistent caseload of 15–20 clients per week once fully established.
In-person availability in our Midtown office on Wednesdays (morning through 3 PM) is required. We also meet every other Monday for Group Consultation from 11-12 and you must be available for that also!
Responsibilities
- Provide depth-oriented, psychodynamic, and EFT-informed psychotherapy to couples and individuals.
- Commit to both in-person sessions (Wednesdays until 3 PM) and remote therapy sessions as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with our team and attend regular staff meetings.
- Participate in practice-wide professional development and growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and current MFT Associate License in New York State.
- Required: Prior experience working in a private practice setting.
- Required: Demonstrated experience providing therapy to couples.
- Strong interest in depth-oriented, psychodynamic, and EFT approaches.
- Reliable, motivated, and eager to grow both professionally and personally.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation starts at $60 per session (based on experience).
