Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Care Manager to join our team in Punta Gorda, FL. The Resident Care Manager will be responsible for overseeing the care and well-being of our residents in a senior living community. This individual will work closely with residents, families, and staff to ensure that each resident receives personalized care and support. Must have a current valid Florida nursing license. This is a summary of job duties that are required for this position.
  • A registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, or licensed vocational nurse, licensed to practice in the State of Florida as required by state regulations.
  • Experience in direct patient care and assessments/observation of clinical conditions
  • Experience in recruiting qualified staff, training, and managing staff in the healthcare profession.
  • Experience at a department head level in Assisted Living or related industry
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • Able to work flexible hours due to the demands of the position.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Supervise resident care staff, provide training, sets hours of work, provide formal and informal performance feedback, recognize both appropriate and inappropriate behaviors.
  • Interview residents and families prior to admission and coordinate pre-admission screening and assessment.
  • Evaluate resident care needs and determine required level of care upon admission and changes in condition.
  • Maintain clear records of all resident changes, requests, and irregularities.
  • Update medical charts and care plan.
  • Observe residents' health status and take actions to address concerns within scope of practice. Coordinate Care Plan meetings with families quarterly and as needed.
  • Record and notify Physician, pharmacist, family, and Executive Director of any significant changes to resident's health status and/or reactions to drugs, treatments, or significant incidents.
  • Order medications from pharmacies, maintain records, and ensure that are properly stored and cared for.
  • Review and implement incident reports; evaluate the need of intervention to minimize risk of further occurrences.
  • Maintain records and files for residents, inventory, and supplies.
  • Maintain appropriate supplies at all times.
  • Provide a quality Memory Care Program.
  • Implement orientation and education programs that explain the philosophy of service in accordance with Hampton Manor Policies and Procedures.
  • Schedule Personal Care Assistants, develop daily tasks, and make assignments.
  • Verify employee hours/payroll reports and arrange replacement staffing when necessary.
  • Monitor associates in administration of medica on, including frequent audits of medica on records.
  • Interview job applicants.
  • Continually assess residents needs in relation to associate training needs to determine priori es in designing an ongoing orientation program.
  • Ensure that all new employees receive general and specific job training.
  • Participate in the New Hire Orientation program and other regular associate meetings or functions.
  • Monitor and maintain records of immunizations requirements for associates and residents. Ensure yearly immunizations are completed and documented in residents’ charts, files.
  • Track and ensure regulatory training requirements are met for associates annually.
  • Respond appropriately to changes in the work setting.
  • Must be willing and able to work required and scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, overtime, and holidays.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy.
