This full-time school social worker opportunity is available for the 2025-26 school year, serving elementary students within a K-12 setting in New London, CT. The role focuses on addressing social and emotional challenges faced by students, utilizing a collaborative, data-driven approach to support their academic and personal success.
Responsibilities include assessing students experiencing social/emotional difficulties and developing tailored treatment plans that incorporate both school and community resources. Utilizing evidence-based interventions and instructional support strategies, you will work to build academic, social, and life skills among young learners. Integration of behavioral support and mental health services with learning objectives is essential, ensuring a holistic approach to student development.
Collaboration with educators and school personnel is key, as you will help create and maintain a multi-tiered system of services, facilitating communication and coordination to effectively plan, implement, and evaluate both academic and mental health initiatives.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Connecticut certification (071) as a School Social Worker
- Master of Social Work (MSW) degree
- Demonstrated ability to conduct valid and reliable assessments using multiple data sources
- Experience developing and implementing evidence-based interventions within schools
- Strong skills in collaboration and communication within educational teams
