Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in a float role. This position is not based at a single clinic; instead, you’ll rotate across our health centers in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties to provide behavioral health support to children, adolescents, and their families. Mileage reimbursement is provided according to company policy.

Job Summary
The Pediatric Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides psychosocial support, counseling, case management, and advocacy services for children and their families. You will deliver care to patients experiencing chronic, acute, or behavioral health challenges, with a focus on reducing barriers to care and promoting long-term wellness. As a float LCSW, you’ll play a vital role in supporting multiple clinics and communities where the need is greatest.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling to pediatric patients and their caregivers.
- Guide children and families in developing coping skills, strategies, and resilience.
- Prepare and maintain treatment plans, progress notes, and required reports.
- Act as an advocate for pediatric patients and families, coordinating services and referrals.
- Conduct assessments through interviews, observation, and standardized tools.
- Collaborate with medical and behavioral health staff to create holistic treatment plans.
- Counsel family members to strengthen support systems for patients.
- Lead structured programs, workshops, and activities for children.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions as needed.
- Provide leadership in Enhanced Case Management teams, especially for complex pediatric cases.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with PCMH standards.
- Stay current with best practices in pediatric mental health through training and professional development.
Pediatric Populations of Focus
- Children experiencing homelessness.
- High utilizers of healthcare services.
- Children with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), at Clinical High Risk (CHR) for psychosis, or experiencing a first episode of psychosis.
- Children enrolled in CCS/WCM programs with additional needs.
- Children involved in or formerly involved in child welfare (including foster care up to age 26).
- Children transitioning from incarceration.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Strong professionalism and ethical standards.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage children and families with empathy and cultural sensitivity.
- Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and manage stress effectively.
Experience & Education
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Marriage & Family Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with pediatric populations (LCSW).
- Current California Clinical Social Worker license required.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Must maintain continuing medical education requirements for licensure.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $103,475.00 - $134,518.00 per year
