Serve as a liaison between students and teaching faculty as the need arises. Serve as a contributing member of the IST and Crisis Intervention Team. Serve as a contact to human service agencies working with students and their families. Facilitate the mediation, conflict resolution and intervention process with staff and students.

Coordinate matters of transition as students move from grade level to grade level and school to school. Promote parent, student and staff understanding of the secondary guidance function. Demonstrate familiarity with standardized testing procedures. Active participant in the annual review of departmental publications and its website.

Maintain and service a caseload of students as assigned by the department chair. Assist in the dissemination of scholarship material to students. Coordinate Educational Proficiency Plans. Participates in formal orientation programs for school-choice students and all incoming high school freshmen.

Provides college admissions information as part of the college search, application and admissions processes. Work closely with the School Service Counselors & Psychologist for the high school.
