Salary: $59,748/yr

Join NuHealth at Nassau University Medical Center, Long Island’s only public safety net hospital and Level I Trauma Center. We are seeking a full-time Medical Social Worker to advocate for LGBTQI+ patients, providing health education, care coordination, and mental health counseling to ensure inclusive, comprehensive care.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify and connect LGBTQI+ patients to health services, coordinating care across specialties.
  • Develop culturally competent materials and lead outreach to address LGBTQI+ health needs.
  • Provide short-term mental health counseling and crisis intervention for LGBTQI+ patients.
  • Educate hospital staff on LGBTQI+ cultural competence and inclusive care practices.
  • Track outcomes, contribute to program improvement, and support grant reporting.

We require:

  • Master’s in Social Work (LMSW or LCSW); LGBTQI+ health certification a plus.
  • 3+ years’ experience with LGBTQI+ populations in health or counseling settings.
  • Knowledge of LGBTQI+ health disparities and community resources.
