A K-12 School in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to support students social and emotional well-being throughout the current school year (CSY) on a contract basis. This role is essential in fostering a positive school environment where students can thrive academically and personally.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address behavioral, social, and emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention strategies and support plans.
  • Assess student needs and connect families with community resources and services.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to monitor student progress.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case documentation in compliance with school policies.
  • Support crisis intervention efforts and promote a safe, nurturing school climate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work or related field.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Social Worker preferred.
  • Experience working with K-12 students in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Ability to manage a confidential caseload with professionalism.
  • Knowledge of community resources and best practices in school social work.
