Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Psychiatrist to join our outpatient medical team. The psychiatrist will provide comprehensive mental health care, including assessments, diagnosis, medication management, and therapeutic interventions for a diverse patient population. This role focuses on offering high-quality psychiatric care in a supportive outpatient environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Essential Job Functions
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic modalities.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, therapists, psychiatric NPs and primary care providers, to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of all patient interactions in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, and continuing education activities to maintain and enhance clinical skills.
- Uphold ethical standards, confidentiality, and compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies.
- Participates in planning and administrative decisions affecting program’s treatment approaches, technology, and quality of care.
- Work on integration of behavioral health and primary care through Collaboration Model
- Will be required to achieve productivity standards as set forth and outlined by department
- Performs psychiatric reviews of charts and treatment plans.
- May supervise psychiatric NP
- Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.
- Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry; valid state medical license. Board-certified is required
- Prior experience in an outpatient psychiatric setting is preferred but not required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency with EHR systems; ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Current documentation of Basic Life Support is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in general office
- Proficient in Microsoft Office is a plus
- Must be able to fluently speak, read and write English.
- Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) preferred
- Fluency in other languages are an asset.
- This is an FLSA Exempt position.
- This is not an OSHA high-risk position.
- This is a full-time position.
