Resident Care Counselor

What to make a difference? Join our team of teen mentors/adolescent child care professionals to support the development of teenage boys ages 12 - 18 years old.

This position is responsible for providing excellent congregant care as well as teaching and modeling good character, positive communication and self-control. Job responsibilities includes supervising our resident population as well as monitoring and meeting daily needs. A day on the job may include going on outings to the movies, participating in celebrations, camping and/or attending athletic events such as a Giants game.

We are a hands off therapeutic residential facility that promotes an atmosphere of respect and responsibility. Paid training provided. Must have a Bachelor's Degree (or 12 units of ECE/Psychology credits) as well as experience working with teenage youth. Background check required. You must be at least 21 years of age, have reliable transportation, a valid Driver's License and clean driving history.

Job Type: On-Call Position - Part Time to start with possibility for increased hours over time. Days & hours may vary as this is an on-call position until full time becomes available:. Thursday/Friday shifts would be approximately 9 hours long. Saturday/Sunday shifts are 14 hours long (meals are included).

Salary: $20.00 / hour

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree (Desired),
• 12 Units of Early Childhood Education and/or Psychology units completed (Desired - if bachelor's degree has not yet been completed)
• Experience with Youth (Required)
• Experience being in Foster Care or the Juvenile Justice System encouraged to apply
