Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is excited to hire a clinical social worker to serve as a Forensic Community Coordinator. This position will provide clinical reviews, make recommendations, and implement statewide policies to monitor, supervise and provide continuity of care for forensic patients discharged to the community. This social worker will serve as a clinical consultant on issues related to forensic community placements; develop, implement, and maintain a system for monitoring and ensuring the delivery of all outpatient and community reporting for forensic patients to criminal courts across the state; and develop new partnerships for forensic placement opportunities with community providers. This role will also serve on the Forensic Leadership panel.
Essential Functions
- Performs clinical social work duties as a Forensic Community Coordinator.
- Serves as a clinical consultant to agencies, hospital forensic teams, and hospital administrators on issues related to forensic community placements.
- Develops, implements, and maintains a system for monitoring and ensuring the delivery of all outpatient and community reporting for forensic patients to the criminal courts across the state.
- Identifies, recruits, and establishes new partnerships for forensic placement opportunities with community providers.
- Serves on Forensic Leadership panel.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required that are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a master's degree in social work from a recognized school of social work supplemented by three (3) years of supervised post master's clinical social work practice and possession of a clinical social worker’s license from the Department of Professional Regulation.
