At Wellspring Lutheran Services, we’re building our very first Family Services team in Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties — and we need passionate, resilient people to join us.

As a Parent Coach / Family Support Social Worker with Wellspring, you’ll provide in-home support and parent education that helps families grow stronger, safer and more self-sufficient.

This role is not easy. You’ll manage a caseload that requires compassion, flexibility and resilience. But the rewards are real: the impact you’ll have on parents and children will last a lifetime.

What You'll Do

As a Parent Coach / Family Support Social Worker, you will:

  • Teach & Coach Parents. Deliver the Nurturing Parenting Program (training provided) and help parents build confidence in communication, advocacy and self-sufficiency.
  • Support Families in Daily Challenges. Connect families with housing, transportation, counseling, medical care and community resources.
  • Provide Short-Term Support. Offer crisis intervention, problem-solving, and referrals to ensure families get the help they need.
  • Document Progress. Complete service plans, progress notes, and reports on time to keep families moving forward.
  • Stay Connected. Maintain regular in-person and weekly contact with families and partner agencies.
  • Travel Locally. Meet families in their homes across Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties using your own vehicle (mileage reimbursed).

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, or a related Human Services field.
  • At least 1 year of human services experience (preferred).
  • A valid Michigan driver’s license, registration and insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Compassion, reliability and a commitment to walking alongside families during challenging times.

  • Flexibility. Hybrid-remote schedule with a home base and community-based family visits.
  • Benefit Package. Health, dental, vision, 403(b) retirement plan, PTO, and paid holidays.
  • Mileage Reimbursement. We know you’ll be on the road serving families.
  • Financial Flexibility. Access to *DailyPay* so you can choose when you get paid.
  • Extra Support. Employee assistance program (Wellspring SupportLinc) to help you care for yourself, too.
  • Salary starts at $41,000/year, based on experience
