Position: Psychiatric Technician (Psych Tech) – Adult Inpatient
Location: 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY 14642
Contract Duration: 17 Weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (rotating Days/Evenings/Nights)
Hours: 36–48 hours/week
Gross Weekly: $1200 - $1300/Week

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Psychiatric Technician (Psych Tech) to join our team in Rochester, NY. This role involves providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to adult inpatient psychiatric patients, supporting daily living and therapeutic activities.
• Assist with psychiatric and social rehabilitation as directed by the RN.
• Monitor and document patient behavior, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to the RN.
• Participate in patient rounds, group therapy, and recreational activities.
• Facilitate patient access to required services and resources.
• Ensure a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for all patients.

Requirements

• Education: AAS degree in Psychology or Sociology (required).
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience in psychiatric or mental health care.
• Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association (required).
• Skills:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
