Job Summary
This appointment is a full-time clinical position, Clinical Social Worker in the Department of Psychiatry in the Child and Adolescent Ambulatory Program at the Rachel Upjohn Building (RUB). This appointment is a clinical position that involves participation on a multi-disciplinary outpatient team, with clinical responsibilities to provide direct billable clinical work in evaluating and treating child and adolescent autism spectrum disorders. Clinical population includes primary focus on youth with autism spectrum disorders and comorbid anxiety disorders and/or mood disorders. Applicants should have advanced training in ADI and ADOS, CBT and behavior modification training comprising supervised clinical experience using this modality for 5 or more years and teaching experience. Applicants with full licensure, psychotherapy training, and semi-structured instrument reliability will be considered the most qualified. Applicants with comfort, knowledge and experience using telehealth/virtual visits will be necessary. Although this position is primarily clinical, applicants should have the knowledge base and significant experience to participate in the education and training of students and staff from social work, psychiatry and other disciplines

This is full time, 40 hour/week position. This position will require some evening hours, typically 1-2 days per week.

Underfill Statement
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Advancement through the career ladder at the Expert or Clinical Scholar Level is required for placement in the MSW Senior Classification
Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

- Providing evidence-based psychotherapy treatment including individual, family and group modalities.
- Participation in the education and training of students and staff from social work and other disciplines.
- A Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council of Social Work Education.
- A current license to practice social work in the State of Michigan.
- Applicants should have advanced training CBT and behavior modification training comprising supervised clinical experience using this modality for 5 or more years and teaching experience.
- Applicants should have advanced training in ADI and ADOS.
- Applicants with full licensure and psychotherapy training, will be considered the most qualified.
- Applicants should have the knowledge base and experience to participate in the education and training of students and staff from social work and other disciplines.
- Efficient, accurate psychiatric assessment skills and effective case presentation skills.
- Independent, sound decision-making is necessary for success in this position.
- Effective collaboration with a large multi-disciplinary team.
- Proficiency in keeping accurate and timely clinical records by computer.
