Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) assesses client behaviors, designs and implements individualized treatment plans using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, supervises Registered Behavior Technicians and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs), analyzes client progress data, and collaborates with families, caregivers, and other professionals to achieve positive behavior changes and improve quality of life. They work with various populations, including individuals with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities, in diverse settings like clinics, schools, and private homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment:Conduct comprehensive behavioral and skill assessments to identify areas of need and strength.
- Treatment Planning:Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) using ABA principles.
- Intervention & Implementation:Provide direct and indirect support to clients, teaching new skills and modifying maladaptive behaviors.
- Data Collection & Analysis:Collect, analyze, and interpret data to monitor client progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
- Supervision & Training:Train, supervise, and provide ongoing support to behavior technicians, assistant behavior analysts, and other support staff.
- Collaboration:Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals (such as speech therapists and psychologists).
- Documentation:Maintain accurate, detailed records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other clinical documentation.
- Professional Development:Engage in continuing education to stay current with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in the field of behavior analysis.
