Overview
Inspire Services LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in providing guidance and assistance to individuals facing various challenges related to mental health, addiction, and behavioral health. The Support Specialist will utilize their skills in crisis intervention, management, and counseling to empower clients on their journey toward recovery and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one peer coaching using strengths-based, recovery principles (e.g., goal-setting, WRAP, wellness planning).
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized support plans.
- Co-facilitate groups (wellness, coping skills, life skills).
- Support care plans alongside clinicians; model self-advocacy and healthy boundaries.
- Connect clients to community resources (benefits, housing, employment, transportation).
- Document timely, accurate notes in our EHR and maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
- Assist with crisis prevention/de-escalation and safety plans, as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in crisis intervention, crisis management, or related fields.
- Strong background in behavioral health and mental health counseling.
- Familiarity with addiction counseling principles and practices.
- Experience in mentoring individuals or groups effectively.
- Knowledge of social work practices and principles.
- Experience with EHR systems for documentation purposes.
- Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery and readiness to share your story to help others.
- State-recognized Peer Support Specialist certification
- High school diploma/GED required, associate’s or higher preferred.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft 365) and strong written/verbal communication.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to work in community settings.
- Ability to pass applicable background checks and required screenings.
