About Job

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our team. Your role will be to provide academic, and emotional guidance to our students. A successful candidate will be experienced in counseling and possess a genuine passion for fostering the personal and academic growth of students.

Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, social, personal issues
  • Assist students in setting academic and personal goals and developing plans to achieve them
  • Identify issues affecting students’ academic performance and suggest interventions
  • Facilitate conflict resolution among students and promote a positive and respectful school environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support students’ well-being and success
  • Plan and lead workshops on topics such as stress management, bullying, and possibly college preparation
  • Maintain confidential records of students’ progress and counseling sessions
  • Coordinate with local community resources and services to support students and families
  • Stay up-to-date with educational and counseling trends and participate in professional development opportunities
  • Uphold and enforce school policies and communicate positive support of the school to the public in word and deed.
  • Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics and state and federal laws.
  • Maintain appropriate work habits, including professional, collaborative relationships with other staff members.
  • Complete Virtus training and follow-up bulletins in a timely manner.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Valid state license as a school counselor or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ethical and moral standards
  • Experience with various counseling techniques for children and adolescents
  • Appropriate criminal records-check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and Federal Bureau of investigation. Have attended or willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training.

Job Type: Part-time
