The Trainee

Curious to learn the science of Applied Behavior Analysis and how to use it to teach individuals with disabilities?

Are you looking for an opportunity where you can grow with plenty of learning opportunities and training?

Private Practice looking for someone who’s looking to career in the field of teaching children to get a hands-on experience to be train up to a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Advance and leadership roles are also available.

RBT certification is mandatory. If not already possessed, it will be required to obtain ASAP once the position starts. Looking to start the right person with the right attitude right away!

Registered Behavior Technician Role

The RBT role is like that of a Tutor. To be successful in the position, you must have a drive to help support and encourage others to learn.

As a RBT, you must be:

· Creative to come up with activities and “lessons” for the students to learn and practice their skills.

· Patient to withstand their idiosyncrasies

· Determined to teach those who have difficulty learning

· Energetic enough to know when to use high energy and animation to create a “fun” learning environment when necessary.

Compensation

Approximately 12-20 hours a week during 2-4 week training period up to 40 hours a week thereafter. Pay rate is on a scale starting 20 an hour until milestones towards certification are obtained which wage is then up to 30 an hour. Services are held in the client’s home. Must be able to commute for the position. Mileage provided for longer commutes.

This is NOT a mental health position.

Zero tolerance for passive aggressive or toxic/dysfunctional behaviors.

Ideal Candidate will hold:

· A Bachelor’s Degree (or near completion)

· CPR/First Aid Certificate

· Experience as a tutor or coach

· Experience with children with disabilities

· Comfortable in stressful situations

· Student Mindset

Responsibilities

- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
- Collect and record data on client behavior and progress towards goals.
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assist in teaching and reinforcing appropriate behaviors.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all interactions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
