About Job

About Us:

Lucky Dog Resort is a boutique dog care facility offering enrichment-based daycare and luxury overnight boarding in a home-like setting.

We’re not a kennel—we provide a calm, structured, and personalized experience for every pup in our care.

Our enrichment daycare focuses on small group play, individualized attention, and purposeful activities designed to support each dog’s mental and physical well-being.

For overnight guests, we offer a cozy, supervised stay that feels like a second home—including human companionship overnight.

Whether for the day or the week, our goal is the same: to keep dogs safe, fulfilled, and deeply cared for—while giving their humans total peace of mind.

About the Role:

We’re looking for responsible, dog-loving team members to join us as Dog Counselors. This is hands-on, meaningful work where your focus is keeping every pup safe, happy, and well cared for—while also delivering warm, helpful service to their people.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and engage with daycare groups during the day- Care for overnight boarding dogs, including “close-to-open” shifts where you’ll sleep in the same space as the pups

- Keep play and rest areas clean, organized, and safe

- Communicate with teammates to ensure consistent, high-quality care

- Greet clients, answer questions, and assist with drop-offs and pickups in a friendly, professional way

- Monitor dog behavior and well-being throughout the day and night

What We’re Looking For:

- Genuine love and respect for dogs

- Friendly and confident interacting with clients in person and by phone

- Reliability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic

- Comfort with cleaning and staying active throughout your shift

- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team

- Willingness to work a mix of day, night, and weekend shifts (we are a 365-day-a-year operation)

- Some prior experience handling dogs is required—personal, volunteer, or professional- Experience with group dog play is a plus

Schedule & Pay:

- Full or part-time

- $16–$18.50/hour depending on experience and responsibilities-

Day shifts are generally 8–10 hours- Overnight shifts are typically longer and include sleeping onsite with the dogs-

Weekend and holiday availability is required

Why the Pay Makes Sense

We know some jobs might offer a little more per hour—but here’s what makes this one different:- You’ll be part of a tight-knit, supportive team that actually works together

- This isn’t a warehouse-style kennel—it’s a home-like setting, even when things get loud or messy

- The work is physical, fast-paced, and often chaotic—but also deeply rewarding

- Overnight shifts offer a change of pace and the chance to provide quiet, steady care. You get to sleep in bed with the pups!

- You’ll have real responsibility, real impact, and real connection—with the dogs and your team

If you’re someone who shows up, cares, and thrives in a busy environment where no two days are the same, this could be the perfect fit.
