Counselor - Bethesda Mission
Bethesda Mission has been serving as a place of hope and healing in Harrisburg for more than 100 years. We provide Christ-centered care and recovery support for women, children, and families experiencing homelessness, addiction, and crisis.
We are seeking a compassionate Counselor to oversee the daily operations of the Women’s Shelter and provide Biblical counseling, case management, and recovery support to guests. This position combines leadership, counseling, and spiritual instruction in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

We are seeking a compassionate Counselor to oversee the daily operations of the Women’s Shelter and provide Biblical counseling, case management, and recovery support to guests. This position combines leadership, counseling, and spiritual instruction in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Biblical counseling and crisis intervention for women and children.
- Facilitate addiction recovery services, including assessments, treatment planning, and group programs.
- Manage casework, advocacy, and referrals to community resources.
- Develop life skills and spiritual growth programs.
- Supervise daily shelter operations, primarily evenings.
- Drive guests to appointments and support recovery-related activities.
- Strong Christian faith and alignment with Bethesda Mission’s Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct.
- Associate’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, or Addiction Studies preferred.
- Minimum 2 years’ counseling experience with women and children in crisis preferred.
- Knowledge of addiction recovery, case management, and 12-step programs.
- Valid driver’s license with good record.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
