JOB SUMMARY

Join our dynamic team at LOGAN as a Registered Behavior Technician, where you will play a vital role in empowering children and adolescents on the autism spectrum to learn essential skills and overcome challenges. In this hands-on position, you will work directly with individuals and their families, implementing innovative instructional and behavioral intervention programs based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). You will receive comprehensive training tailored to our unique ABA programs, all while under the guidance of experienced Lead Behavior Technicians and Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

  • Engage and Inspire: Implement 1:1 instructional and behavioral intervention programs that align with clients' individual ABA treatment plans, facilitating skill acquisition and behavior improvement.
  • Be a Lifelong Learner: Participate in ongoing training sessions covering fundamental ABA principles, effective teaching techniques, child development, and data collection methods to enhance your expertise.
  • Observe and Record: Monitor and document each child's behavior and progress towards goals, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of their development.
  • Support Transitions: Assist clients during arrival and departure, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Document Progress: Accurately complete daily documentation to track services provided, ensuring all records meet billing requirements.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Engage in team meetings regarding client programs and participate in monthly parent meetings to nurture collaboration with families.
  • Establish Trust: Respect family wishes as outlined in the Family Services Agreement and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Work as a Team: Foster a cooperative environment with staff and management to enhance service delivery and continuously improve practices.
  • Uphold Professional Standards: Represent LOGAN positively in the community, advocating for the dignity and rights of every individual served.
  • Physical Readiness: Be prepared to sit at child-height, kneel, bend, reach, and lift to 50 pounds throughout the day to support and engage with clients effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • - Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • - Ideal candidates will achieve Registered Behavior Technician credentialing through our training and supervision program within 84 days of hire.
  • - If pursuing BCBA supervision, completion or progress in graduate education is required.

Experience

  • Prior experience with children of diverse abilities is highly preferred, especially in working with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Familiarity with data collection or professional report writing is a plus.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with families and therapeutic staff members.

Skills and Abilities

  • - Exceptional interpersonal skills to bond with individuals across various diagnoses and abilities.
  • - Capacity to follow ABA programs with precision as directed by a supervising BCBA.
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative therapy team.
  • - Must have reliable transportation to assist in service delivery across different locations.
