Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Genetic Counselor assesses individual or family risk for inherited conditions such as genetic disorders and birth defects and provides information to patients, families, and other healthcare providers regarding the risk of inherited conditions and may recommend specific genetic testing. The Genetic Counselor advises patients so that they can make informed decisions about their healthcare.

HYBRID SCHEDULE OPTION

This position allows for 1 day remote work, with 4 days onsite in Marshfield.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Master’s degree of science in genetic counseling.

Preferred/Optional: None

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required: None

Preferred/Optional: Experience in genetics or related field.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: Individuals that do not meet the certification/licensure requirements prior to September 1, 2023 will have until then to meet the requirements listed below:

Board certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Genetic Counselors.

Active genetic counseling licensure in the state of Wisconsin or eligible for temporary licensure according to state of Wisconsin guidelines.
