Position: Community Support Specialist
Location: Los Angeles, CA 90045 (Near LAX Airport)
Pay Rate: $25–$26 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Temp-to-Hire

CSL Staffing is seeking a Community Support Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a highly reputable and rapidly growing behavioral and mental health care company in Los Angeles. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping individuals experiencing homelessness find and maintain permanent housing through personalized support, referrals, and community connections.

Why This Role Matters

As a Community Support Specialist, you will build meaningful relationships with community organizations, local leaders, and clients. Your work will directly impact the lives of individuals and families by helping them overcome barriers and achieve housing stability.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct thorough assessments to understand clients’ housing, financial, health, and employment needs

· Perform heavy phone work, outbound calls, inbound calls, and returning member calls and partner calls

· Help clients develop and follow personalized housing plans to achieve stable housing

· Provide culturally sensitive, one-on-one case management tailored to each client

· Support clients with life skills, job readiness, and budgeting to promote independence

· Maintain detailed records, track progress, and provide updates to supervisors

· Serve as a liaison between tenants and landlords to resolve issues and prevent evictions

· Conduct home visits after housing placement to ensure ongoing stability and support

· Collaborate with other service providers and attend team meetings to coordinate care

· Support Community Support (CS) services, including:

· Housing transition and sustainability

· Nursing facility-to-home transitions

· Short-term post-hospital housing

· Housing deposits and navigation

Requirements

Education & Experience

· High school diploma or GED required

· Minimum 1 year of experience in case management, healthcare, social services, or customer service

Skills & Abilities

· Valid California driver’s license and car insurance required (mileage reimbursed)

· Strong communication, organization, and active listening skills

· Comfortable using computers for documentation and communication

· Able to work independently and as part of a team

· Able to multitask and manage multiple clients effectively

· Compassionate, patient, and able to handle emotionally challenging situations

· Strong problem-solving skills under pressure

· Bilingual skills: English required; English Spanish and English-Arabic are a strong advantage.

· Must use personal vehicle for outreach visits (mileage reimbursed)

· Able to sit for long periods and lift up to 15 lbs
