BryLin is currently hiring for a Full Time Clinical Counselor!

As a Clinical Counselor with BryLin, you will help people live happier, healthier lives, as you coordinate and participate in the efficient delivery of high-quality care to behavioral health patients. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides thorough psychosocial assessments for patients including review of pertinent information provided in chart beforehand.
  • Identifies and provides individualized treatment plan goals and reviews with primary Clinical Counselor.
  • Completes thorough lethality assessments with assigned patients and reports findings to multi-disciplinary team.
  • Completes inpatient and discharge safety plans with assigned patients. Reports findings to the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Documents thorough and appropriate progress notes on assigned patients.
  • Documents all pertinent patient information on the Clinical Counseling Communication Tool.
  • Develops rapport with patients to help engage patients in treatment planning, 1:1 counseling, and discharge planning.
  • Coordinates and facilitates process and psycho-educational groups which meet the needs of the client base. Documents group progress on group notes and files in chart.
  • Presents pertinent information on patients to the primary clinical counselor.
  • Assists primary counselor with discharge planning tasks such as faxing and copying of medical record.
  • Under the guidance of the primary clinical counselor, schedules outpatient appointments.
  • Utilizes theory based therapeutic modalities and demonstrates sensible and clinical intervention skills with patients.
  • Services a professional role model to all other direct care staff. Communicates with and educates staff regarding therapeutic concerns of patients.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Counseling.

Requirements:

  • Possess a minimum of 1 year of proven experience
  • Licensed Master's Degree in Social Work, or in mental health discipline and possess a current NYS license.
  • Occasional physical care and intermittent standing, walking and sitting.

This individual will have some knowledge and understanding of patient-centered care and possess excellent communication and customer service skills. We are seeking individuals that understand the importance of empathy in patient care and a drive to make a positive impact on our organization.
